There was no time to evacuate.
Catastrophic twin earthquakes rocked Venezuela last week near Caracas.
Thousand are missing. And the death toll is rapidly climbing as hope wanes for those buried in the rubble.
Rescue teams from around the world have converged. Local churches immediately stepped up with aid.
Venezuelans are crying to God, pleading for help.
The nation’s 31 million people are largely Catholic – but that label doesn’t always mean an active faith.
Fewer Venezuelans go to church than in any other Latin American country.
Clearly, nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.
Jesus is eager to be their strength and comfort, if they will put their trust Him.
May the lost and hurting across Venezuela take refuge in the tender care of Christ.
