Premier News shares about the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump and how God saved his life.

Donald Trump says he had ‘God on his side’ when an assassin’s bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking his life.

He was speaking to supporters on Thursday evening at the Republican National Congress while accepting the formal call to run as President.

Recalling the events which happened at a rally in Pennsylvania at the weekend he said :

“I’m not supposed to be here tonight. I felt very safe because I had God at my side, I knew that…If I hadn’t moved my head at that instant the assassin’s bullet would have met its mark.

“Bullets were flying over but I felt serene.”

At that moment, the crowd of loyal supporters in Milwaukee cried out “Yes you are! Yes you are!”

The former President continued: “I stand before you only by the grace of Almighty God. Many people say it was a providential moment. It probably was.”

The evangelist Franklin Graham who was invited to speak and pray at the Republican National Congress last night, told a US TV interviewer that he believed God had saved Mr Trump’s life.

He said that “near-death experiences change people. I hope he kneels beside his bed every day and says ‘thank you God for giving me another day’. I believe God saved his life. It’s a God thing.”

Rev Graham who is also CEO of the charity Samaritan’s Purse went on to urge “Christians and people of faith” to vote and praised Trump’s stance on defending religious freedom.

“He did so much for people of faith last time. And in 2019 at the UN (United Nations) he took a stand for religious liberties worldwide, to defend where people would not be persecuted for their faith,” he said.

“No President has done that and I just applaud him.”
