14 Days of prayer for Birmingham elections

14 Days of prayer for Birmingham elections
birmingham

As we approach the local elections, join us in praying for God’s plan for all the wards in Birmingham.  Each day, take some time out to pray for the 4 or 5 wards over the next two weeks from Thursday 23rd April – 6thMay 2026.  As you pray understand that YOU are playing a very important role in praying for those who can lead and transform our communities.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

The suggestion is to pray every day, asking the Holy Spirit to guide and anoint you so you know what to pray for, how to pray, and knowing you have authority as you pray.

Here’s some prayer points:

  • Pray for the councillors that will be standing in each ward.  Pray for integrity, wisdom and truth.  Pray that God will position the right person for that ward.
  • Ask God to protect each leader and surround with wise counsellors who have a heart for a better Birmingham.
  • For God to bring anything into the light that needs to be exposed in the ward.
  • Ask God to motivate the people to come out and vote, not for who they usually vote for, but who is best for their area.
  • Pray for transformation in each ward that will benefit people, businesses, education, NHS, justice, the Church, etc.
