10 Days

What is the 10 days?

it’s a call to the Lord’s people to set time aside in the bustle of life to seek the Lord’s presence at His appointed times, in a biblical rhythm of surrender in adoration, repentance, prayer, even fasting in some way.

10 days to Pentecost is ‘Upper Room’ time.  Forty days after Jesus’ Resurrection, He gave His disciples instructions just before ascending into heaven (Luke 24:50-52), to wait and pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit 10 days later,  “…he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father…”  (Acts 1:4,5,8 (ESV). This year, there were more 24/7 prayer groups and churches than ever uniting for the 10 Days across the UK and Europe.

10 Days of Awe (or High Holy Days) is a key time of reflection, returning to the Lord and His ‘ancient paths’, between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement.  For believers in Christ, the Messiah, such appointed times (Hebrew: moadim) powerfully foreshadow Jesus, His sacrifice on the cross for our salvation once and for all, and the Body seeking to be the pure Bride with oil lamps lit, ready for the Return of our Lord.

Why do the 10 days?

10 Days is a part of God’s amazing plan to unite (John 17:23) and revive the Church, for our nations to return to the biblical ‘ancient paths’ (Jeremiah 6:16) and rhythms, as we pray for ourselves, for the Body and for those of every people group to be saved (Matthew 24:14), also for the Lord’s end-time promises to be fulfilled and salvation of the Jewish people (Rom. 11:12, 15), for a mighty, global outpouring of the Spirit (Joel 2:28-30).

In the UK this year, as many men and younger people from GenZ  (https://www.biblesociety.org.uk/research/quiet-revival) have been seeking stability from the true and living God in the midst of a messy, ungodly world, there is such a need for the Body across Europe, to join as one in seeking the Lord for mercy, salvation and a return to godly ways, for our church leaders, politicians and nations, while there is still time.

So commit to the 10 Days out of obedience, unity or simply love for Jesus.
