Every week brings fresh opportunities to pray into the headlines and seek God’s kingdom in our communities and across the nations. Here are five key areas Christians can unite in prayer for this week.
1. Pray for Wisdom for the UK’s Leaders
As economic pressures continue and important national decisions are made, this is a significant time to pray for those in authority. Scripture reminds us that God desires us to pray for kings and all those in leadership so that society may flourish in peace and justice.
Pray for:
- Wisdom and integrity for the Prime Minister, Cabinet and Parliament.
- Wise decisions that protect the vulnerable and strengthen communities.
- Unity rather than division in political discourse.
- Christian leaders to be salt and light within public life.

A Prayer for This Week
Heavenly Father,
We thank You that You are sovereign over every nation and every circumstance. We lift before You our leaders, asking that You would grant them wisdom, humility and discernment. We pray for peace wherever there is conflict, comfort for those who are suffering, and hope for those living in fear.
We ask You to refresh the land with rain where it is needed and help us to care faithfully for Your creation. We pray for children, young people and families during this summer season, that many would discover Your love and purpose for their lives.
Above all, we cry out for spiritual renewal across the United Kingdom and throughout the nations. Pour out Your Holy Spirit, awaken Your Church, and draw many people to Jesus. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
