Thousands attend carol concert to launch ‘Shine your Light’

The Salvation Army held its annual Celebrate Christmas carol concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 4th December 2025, which has marked the formal start of the Shine Your Light 2025 Christmas campaign.

More than 5,000 guests attended the event, which featured dance performances, choir renditions, the Christmas message, and a moving version of ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ performed by the Salvation Army’s International Staff Band.

Commissioner Paul Main, UK territorial commander, told attendees the concert aimed to inspire churches and communities across the UK to engage in evangelistic work.

“We were excited to see how Shine Your Light would enable the good news of Jesus to spread across the nation as God’s people stepped out in faith,” he said.

The launch comes shortly after Premier Christian News covered the reimagining of the classic worship song ‘Shine, Jesus shine’ for the campaign, which organisers say aims to unite Christians nationwide in “a powerful moment of unified worship”.

Over 2,000 churches are expected to participate, with a focus on reaching young people, workplaces, prisons, and homeless communities.

Pray that all the Christmas outreaches and carol services will shine the light of Christ and attract many to encounter Jesus.
