Completing the Great Commission Jesus' command

The link between the ongoing troubles of the world and the fulfilment of the Great Commission is rarely made, yet these troubles will only end when the Great Commission has been completed.

Jesus made this clear in Matthew 24:14, ‘’And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.’’

Therefore, the completion of the Great Commission is the most strategic and significant direction Jesus has given to his church globally. The longer we take to realise this the longer the powers of darkness will inflict pain, trauma and suffering and delay Jesus’ return.

About the authors

Praying for a world in crisis is written by Pete and Pip Gardner.

Their ministry background is international, missional and pioneering. For 12 years, they pioneered with others the formation of a Welsh mission movement and established a base in Richmond, VA with the focus on reaching the unreached and training people for mission.

After a three and a half year period of waiting upon the Lord, we pioneered an international ministry called Global Focus to impart understanding to Christian leaders of the impacts and realities of global decision-making forums on nations and how to engage through intercession, advocacy and the prophetic. After a fruitful season in this we entered a second season of waiting upon the Lord which lasted 20 years. This waiting season formed the basis of our recently published book.
