On Saturday 30th September 2023, Ian Cole, the WPC team and friends will be walking an 8-mile sponsored ‘Walk of Blessing’ across parts of South Birmingham, praying blessing on every church and school they pass. The walk is to celebrate the 80th birthday of Ian Cole, founder of World Prayer Centre, and he will be joined by his wife Pauline and family.

Ian has set himself a target of £1000 for every year of his life and is asking for sponsorship based on the number 8. £8, £18, £80, £800, £8,000…

walk of blessing

The WPC team would be thrilled if you can sponsor Ian at this unique time in his life and his service for God and the body of Christ in this nation and in many parts of the world.

Ian has just recent been given the ‘all clear’ after being diagnosed with prostate and bladder cancer in 2020.  We thank God for his healing and pray for continued health and endurance as he takes on the 8@80 challenge!

Who benefits

Three charities will benefit from the money raised from the challenge.  World Prayer Centre will be the main beneficiary with two other charities receiving a tithe (10%) each of the money raised.

As World Prayer Centre ministries operating locally, nationally and globally, we would like to bless:

Love Your Neighbour based in inner city Birmingham.

Advantage Africa working amongst the poorest in Kenya and Uganda.

The route

The sponsored walk of blessing will start on Saturday 30th September at 10.30 am and end at:

Gas Street St Luke’s church,
Great Colmore Street, Birmingham,
B15 2AT

The route will then be St Luke’s – Bristol Rd –  Selly Oak – Cotteridge – Stirchley – Cannon Hill Park – Calthorpe Park – Bristol Rd – St Luke’s.
