You are invited to join the Hope Countryside Partnership this coming Saturday, 8 November 2025, at 9 AM via Zoom.
The theme for this meeting is the rather mysterious Jewish saying, ‘The King is in the field’, used in the Hebrew month of Elul in the run-up to the autumn feasts starting with Rosh Hashanah (Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets) on the first of Tishrei.
The saying is suggestive of the King Messiah who is both close at hand and ‘out there’ in the fields, meaning, for us, in the countryside and villages of rural Britain.
The aims of this gathering will be to hear some of how the Holy Spirit is bringing renewal and growth to churches in rural Britain and to ask the Lord to bless and increase this work, send out labourers into His harvest (Matthew 9:35-38), and open new doors (Colossians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
We will be joined by two guests, who will share some good-news stories of what is happening in rural churches and fellowships on their respective ‘patches’.
- The Rev’d Ivor MacDonald is the Director of the Free Church of Scotland’s Centre for Rural Ministry, working with Free Church churches across rural Scotland, some in very remote locations.
- The Rev’d Dr Christopher Landau is Director of ReSource, which supports local churches in spiritual renewal. With Anglican roots, ReSource works in and beyond the Church of England. Many of the churches its helps are small and rural.
All are welcome. Log in below.
